Hello! Welcome to my Master Bedroom Makeover for spring! Today I’m joining with 13 blogger friends to bring you some ideas for styling your home for spring.
If you’ve arrived from Joan over at 2 Ladies & a Chair, welcome! Isn’t Joan just a master at this styling stuff – love her and her fun ideas!
Two weeks ago I shared my spring kitchen here. That day we had about two feet of snow on the ground, so I just tried really hard not to look out the window ;-). Â Today it’s 65 and sunny, so at least mother nature is cooperating a little better with this spring tour!
I thought today I’d share with you the simple things I did to bring a little more sunshine and spring-i-ness into my master bedroom. I think they would work for you, too.

Amp up the white
To add a little more brightness to my room, I added white touches wherever I could. For example, I switched out the pictures and frames in my sitting area. They had been a cream color, but I traded them for white ones. I even traded the pictures themselves to ones that have more white in them. It’s a small trick, but it helps!
Pillows with a white background, and a creamy white throw also help bring in the brightness.
Fresh white bedding from Under the Canopy sure helps this space feel clean and bright. Their products are all organic and green, which means good for the environment, and good for you!
These sheets and pillow cases, for example, are made from 100% certified organic cotton. They feel so good, and what’s even niftier is that they get softer and softer with every washing. Love! You can find them at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Add at least a few fresh flowers
I know – this one is a no-brainer, but what can I say? Flowers are a necessary component of any spring styled room.
I added some creamy white roses to this vintage white planter. Light, bright, and fresh.
And this one is sneaky, but that single white flower on the other nightstand is fake. Still looks fresh and pretty, though, so in it went!

Remove excess clutter
One of the easiest ways to freshen up a room is to take OUT things that don’t need to be there. I don’t know about you, but it seems like things have a way of multiplying over the winter. Pillows, stacks on books on the nightstands, whatever – they all have a way of accumulating. So clearing off surfaces and starting fresh is a great way to greet this new, fresh season.
Blue feels fresh and crisp for spring
Choose a color that you love, and add that in some healthy doses. I chose to use a pretty, crisp blue.
The blue striped duvet cover is also from Under the Canopy, and it adds just the right touch of crispness to the room. All I needed to do is add a denim pillow and my bed looks crisp and clean, and ready for spring!
Bring in a little green
Greenery is a winner in a home during any season, but I especially like bringing in some green when spring starts making itself known. Around this area, spring is a very touchy thing – a snow squall one day, 65 degrees and sunny the next! So adding live greens helps keep my hopes up that one of these days, the snow will be gone for good. (Please!!)
Even this little bit of green in the single (fake) rose leaves helps things look hopeful.
Open the windows!
You can’t tell from this picture, because I was having a really hard time with the lighting in this room due to all the sunshine pouring in, but those windows are open to bring in that fresh spring air.
I always love to throw the windows open as soon as spring hits. Feels so good to have some fresh air in the house after being cooped up all winter long.
And that’s it for my spring styling tips. Hope you enjoyed your visit! It’s time to hop on over to see Lacey and Kim over at Styled with Lace. They have some beautiful spring styling tips waiting for you.
