Today I’m sharing some of the design inspiration for our master bathroom at #TheMountainViewHouse. I’m also showing you what products I’ve decided to go with, and some of my reasoning behind what I chose.
Things are moving so quickly now on our new home – #TheMountainViewHouse. If you want to see almost daily progress, check out my Instagram stories 🙂 Weather hasn’t slowed us down one bit, so I’ve actually been having to race a little to keep ahead of the game! Here’s a shot of the current state of affairs up there on the mountain –
As you might expect, right from the the get-go with this house I had a certain look I wanted to achieve – kind of a modern mountain home, but with lots of classic elements mixed in.
And, I knew I wanted to go with a high-contrast look of with lots of white, black, and natural wood elements on the interior. So coming up with inspiration photos for the master bathroom was not hard.
Here are some pictures of bathrooms from some of my favorite designers that inspired me along the way –

Given my goal of white, black, and natural wood with classic elements mixed in, I came up with this as a design board for my master bathroom:
As you can see, I’m mixing metals a ton in this space – brass sconces and mirrors, black hardware on the vanity, and chrome plumbing fixtures. I love the depth that the mix of metals brings, and the warmth of the white oak cabinet seals the deal for me.
The black floors and windows will keep things simple, and at the same time contrast nicely with the white walls, thus helping the architecture and the view take center stage.
I chose plumbing fixtures for this room from the friendly folks at Signature Hardware. Here’s a board showing you the gorgeous classic pieces that I’ve chosen:

I’m super excited about that freestanding tub and tub filler. They’ll be sitting in front of a huge, gorgeous black window, and they are going to be showpieces for sure! I’m hoping to add a woven shade for the window and some pretty, soft linen drapes to frame it out and to soften up the space some.
And I really love the classic look of the bridge faucets I chose – they help to ground the space with a classic feel.
The sink shown on the board looks a little odd with the tan exterior, but that’s because it’s actually an undermount sink. All that will be visible is the pretty white porcelain, not the unfinished tan underbelly 🙂
And I purposely kept the shower head simple. We have had rain head showers before, and honestly we never use them. So I went with a simple wall shower head to keep the shower clean and uncluttered.
There you have it – my master bathroom inspiration and plumbing product picks. Now just to wait patiently until they’re installed….
