Today I get to share a special little design project for a special little girl. She’s a princess who loves pink, so we gave her a flower garden girl’s bedroom with lots of splashes of her favorite color!
The jumping off point for this design was this happy Flower Garden wallpaper from Milton & King. I love the variety of fresh colors in this paper. Although pink was a priority, I didn’t want to overwhelm the room with too much pink-ness, and I felt that this paper brought in the perfect amount of color and pattern.
Plus it’s sweet without being overly cutesy – a wonderful mix for a room that will grow along with the child. They have so many fun patterns to choose from – check out their incredible selection here.
I haven’t hung wallpaper in years, but this was a pretty fun and easy project. Even though the paper does not come pre-pasted, it was a cinch to brush some paste on the back, then hang the paper right to the wall.
The quality of the paper is so nice, too. Heavy and substantial, and easy to handle. It took two of us maybe 4 hours to hang this wall.
In addition to a pretty salmon-y version of pink, the paper also has some teal, green, yellow, and even some red. All these colors made it so easy to accessorize the room. We used a fun brass lamp, a few colorful books, a vintage clock, and a little white bird (hello flower garden!) on the bedside table.
This cute white-washed wooden D comes from Hobby Lobby. We made sure it was securely fastened over the headboard, of course, where it adds a personalized touch without overwhelming the paper.
This yellow dresser is a vintage one that was given a coat of sunny yellow paint. It picks up nicely on the yellow in the wallpaper, and adds a happy burst of color to the room.
A few fun vintage florals were all I used on the walls, although I think a pretty mirror added to a wall by the closet will add a touch of sparkle to the room at a future date.
A big basket provides stuffed animal storage, and a pendant made with colors that complement the wallpaper creates some interest at the windows. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but there are white blinds on the window, so we didn’t really need to do anything more than add a little color to the windows.
This cute bedding is the Vintage Blush zipper bedding from Beddy’s. It’s so easy for little hands to zip up the side and the bed is made! I love this shade of pink. It’s so soft – more of a blush – and doesn’t overwhelm or scream pink.
I also love this super soft rug from Rugs USA. It’s my go-to source for rugs because the selection is incredible, and they have really, really great sales. This rug is the Cloudy Shag Diamond Rug in Baby Pink.
This diamond pattern rug has just enough color in it to make it fun, but its pattern doesn’t compete with the wallpaper. Plus, it is incredibly soft!
It’ll be the perfect, cozy place for her to play with her dolls and toys or snuggle up with mom and dad and a good book.
Thanks for stopping by today for this Flower Garden Girl’s bedroom reveal! I always appreciate you taking the time to pop in, and I love your kind comments!
Have a great day –
