My spring living room
It’s time for a spring tour of my living room! Last week I shared our entryway and mudroom all ready for spring as part of the One Room Spring Tour. If you didn’t catch it, be sure to head over to this post and check out the full week’s worth of tours – 25 bloggers shared 25 beautiful rooms all prepped and ready for some spring sunshine! And let me tell you – I was blown away by the talent and creativity of these bloggers. I came away with lots and lots of ideas for adding a fresh feel to my home as we ease (ever so slowly, in my area, unfortunately) into the warmer months ahead.
I don’t know about you, but I am MORE than ready for spring. Since Mother Nature is still not fully on board with the whole warm weather thing here in our mountain valley (it is snowing as I type this – boo!!), I had to take matters into my own hands to make it feel like spring inside.
To do that, I took out all my dark hued pillows and replaced them with lighter colors and floral prints. This yummy floral pillow cover is one I made out of some vintage fabric I found at the local thrift store. I love how nicely its colors go with my painted end table – seems so fresh and spring-y. I made the Sugar pillow cover from an old sugar sack I bought at the Vintage Whites market in SLC last month.
Adding greenery in the form of inexpensive houseplants also helps it feel a little more like warm weather might actually be here to stay soon.
Some leftover yellow tulips from last week’s entryway tour help to brighten up my kitchen island. The tulips won’t be around much longer, so I am enjoying them while they last!
This was a shot from out Easter table, but it’s so pretty and bright that I couldn’t resist adding it to the tour today.
These purple tulips are planted in a vintage galvanized trough, which was also a thrift store find. I’m using the term “planted” very liberally here – they’re actually still in their pots sitting inside the trough. I covered the dirt with some green paper grass.
And until spring is here for real, I’m enjoying my collage of vintage floral paintings – anything in a pinch, right?!
