Hello, friends – welcome back to the Deck the Halls Christmas Home Tour, where I’ll be sharing my winter woodlands inspired dining room today…come on inside!

Okay – let’s get down to the business of showing you my holiday dining room!

As I mentioned during my living room tour on Tuesday, I decided to build my holiday decor around the theme of a winter woodland (think of the snowy winter wood scenes in Narnia). This meant incorporating lots of nature-inspired decor, greenery, and of course, snow into my living room decorating. Here are a couple shots in case you missed my living room on Tuesday.

I loved the snowy woodlands theme so much that I carried it into my dining room.

This beautiful tree was the jumping off point for my dining room decorating. I just love the snowy, woodsy feel of this tree from King of Christmas. And I loved it ten times more after I stuffed it into that woven basket :-). Somehow that just brought everything together for me. I had to remove the stand it came with, and then stuff pillows around the base inside the basket to keep it steady. But I definitely think it was worth the little bit of extra work involved.

I’m ridiculously proud of the fact that I didn’t buy a single new ornament for any of my trees this year – I just used what I already had. Go me! (I’d better get some serious Christmas Wish List points for that feat, Santa.) So for this tree, I rounded up every ornament that I own that had a nature, woodland, or snowy theme, and they found a home in this pretty tree.

Snowflakes, pinecones, branches with tiny gold leaves, vintage reindeer, and even some gingerbread moose made the cut.

In order to bring that same winter woodland feel onto the table setting, I really wanted some wood chargers. That’s where Justin from Rustic Wood Slices came into the picture. He so generously sent me six of these beautifully cut and finished wood slices (which he makes himself) to use as chargers on my table. Aren’t they just gorgeous!

I am so enamored with these wood slices. They are perfectly even and straight, and they make my white dishes and snowy white table linens positively shine! I can’t sing their (or Justin’s) praises high enough. And I can envision lots of uses for these pretty slices once Christmas is over, too.

Each place setting received a wood slice charger, a hand-thrown style white dish, and a beautiful snowy white damask napkin tied with a black ribbon and embellished with some greenery and a pinecone.

Because I wanted the table to have that magical woodland feel, I wrapped some white twinkle lights around each plate. Greenery, white candles in snowy hurricanes, and snow-dusted pinecones finish off my woodland holiday table.

And of course, I had to add this white paper mache moose to the wall when I found him at Target. We get so many deer, elk, and even moose wandering around our property that I feel like he’s right at home in my dining room.

The centerpiece is three clear hurricanes with snow (aka sugar) and a white pillar candle.

My dining room buffet is playing nicely with my woodland theme, too with these pretty deer head candleholders from House of Herringbone. The gold tray is a thrift store find, and I added some pinecones and greenery, as well as some gold ornaments for a little pizazz.

I even switched out some of the plates on my dining room wall from patterned ones to white ones to reinforce the snowy feel. You can see the real deal (snow – lots of it) right outside the window – and I’m sure there’s lots more of that in store for us this winter!

And I am really loving the backdrop of this pretty rug from Rugs USA.
