Welcome to the One Room Spring Tour sponsored by…. me! I have been so impressed by the beautiful rooms that have been shared so far on the tour – and there’s so much more springtime loveliness in store as the week continues! If you’re joining me from She Leaves a Little Sparkle – welcome! Today I’m sharing my spring entryway and mudroom.
Spring is always a long time coming here in our little mountain valley. We are at a high enough altitude that it’s often late May before it is reliably warm and we’re mostly safe from the threat of further snow. I think that’s part of the reason I feel the need to start decorating for spring inside my home much earlier – deep down I know it’s coming eventually, but I’m always hopeful that spring will surprise us with an early arrival, and bringing springtime touches inside keeps that hope alive!
Today I’m sharing with you my entryways decorated for spring. First up is my front entry. I made the spring wreath that’s on the door last year using a grapevine wreath from Michaels, some floral stems, and a little yellow watering can I have had for a couple of years.
I love yellow (if you couldn’t already guess from my photos!), and I always feel like bringing yellow decor into a room is like adding some happy rays of sunshine. Here in my front entry, I gathered up a yellow candle holder, a yellow throw, and even a photo with some yellow in it to reinforce the springtime feel.
I also added the pretty pink and yellow floral pillow to my settee for a touch of spring. I made the pillow cover from some vintage fabric I bought on Etsy last year, and I love its delicate pattern.
Don’t you just love tulips! They are such a happy flower, and in shades of yellow and orange, they just personify spring! I found these on sale at Walmart and nestled them together in a shallow gold bowl, then wrapped them up in some coir (I think that’s what that stuff is called! At any rate, it’s the stuff you use to line wire baskets with before you plant flowers in them.)
I love that the tulips are reflected in the mirror – it makes it seem like I have twice as many as I really do!
On to my other entry – the mudroom off of the garage. This room has to be hardworking, because it’s where we shed boots, raincoats, scarves, and all that other not-always-clean springtime paraphenalia.
Here, purple tuips in a basket, rubber boots, a raincoat, and a watering can are all I need to remind me that, yes – spring really is on the way!
Thanks you so much for stopping by today – I hope you enjoyed today’s One Room Spring Tour! Make sure you hop over to see what springtime treats Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage has in store for you!
